Welcome to NextGen Writer’s Conference, a free, online conference for authors under twenty. Staff and coordinators for NextGen Writer’s Conference are committed to creating a safe and engaging writing experience designed to assist young adults as they hone their writing craft. During our two-day conference the blog’s content will continually evolve, include filtered chats, and present moderated forums. There’s no third-party advertising and it’s totally free.

NextGen Writer’s Conference Safety Measures

We are dedicated to creating a safe, online experience with parental permission and moderated chat controls in place. Participants who engage in inappropriate behavior will be removed from the site and banned from all chats and forums. Participants are encouraged to report inappropriate behavior to our moderators by clicking through our “contact us” page.
Personal Safety Online

We encourage parents to talk about internet safety with their adolescents and keeping in mind the following suggestions:

  • Never give out personal or identifying information online, including names, ages, states of origin, school names (or school functions), phone numbers, and addresses.
  • Never share your registration information with anyone else (other than your parents).
  • If someone online makes your child feel uncomfortable in anyway, encourage them to speak with you and/or the site’s moderators and authorities.
  • Use nicknames and avatars that do not give away your true identification or location.

NextGen Writer’s Code of Conduct

The coordinators of NextGen Writers are committed to providing a safe and enjoyable experience to all conference participants. As such, we ask that you take a moment to familiarize yourself with our Code of Conduct.

Respect other Writers

NextGen Writers will not tolerate bullying, mean behavior, or foul language toward others (this includes references to drugs, alcohol, or other inappropriate behaviors). Kind critiquing is encouraged where requested, but we ask that all critics be sandwiched between encouragement and kindness. Participants behaving otherwise will be removed from the conference.

Sharing Information

Never share personal information, including your name, address, phone number, school, and school activities with anyone on the NextGen Writer’s site or any other website. Keep your personal information safe and private.
